Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or vehicle collection. This document outlines important terms, conditions, insurance provisions, charges, and your responsibilities for the rental period. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Rental Vehicle Requirements
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Glossop, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may differ based on vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for drivers under 25. A valid full driving licence suitable for the vehicle category is required, held for the minimum duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of your current address must be provided, along with payment information and a security deposit. Please refer to the Rental Agreement for any additional requirements.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be arranged via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Glossop office. A booking deposit may be necessary to confirm your reservation. The total payment and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are quoted in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept all major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection in Glossop, you are required to conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, accounting for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will apply if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may result in additional charges, so please notify us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. Insurance and Responsibility

You are liable for any damage or loss up to the insurance excess, except when covered by additional policies. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice provided. For specific details, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or failure to show may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Usage
Prohibited Uses of Your Vehicle
- The vehicle may not be used for any unlawful activities. This includes racing, rallying, off-roading, or other dangerous maneuvers. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting the vehicle to unauthorized individuals is prohibited. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. Additionally, using the vehicle for purposes it was not designed for, exceeding passenger or weight limits, or driving outside designated geographic areas without prior approval is not allowed.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Glossop will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the rental amount paid in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Local Legal Framework
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
10. Updates to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon publication on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
